3D printing is a hobby that has grown considerably in the last few years. Online communities for sharing digital designs have driven the popularity of this activity by providing a seemingly unlimited useful supply of things that are ready to print. As much as low-cost DIY 3D printers have lowered the barrier of entry into this hobby, to most people it still seems overwhelming to get involved. This article should provide a breif overview of the jumping off point of getting involved in 3D printing.
